In addition to the experience to be gained through the positions themselves, the AdvantageGreen Energy Internships Program aims to provide additional professional development opportunities and a supportive learning environment for the interns. This includes an initial orientation, development of a peer-network among all the interns, and periodic seminars, networking and other activities.

The AdvantageGreen Energy Internships Program is made possible through a grant from the North Carolina State Energy Office, which created the funding program with money from the federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
